Mountain View Urgent Care was started by Dr. Van Ravenswaay, a life-long Alaskan, prior independent commercial fisherman who went to UAA with the idea of serving Alaska's rural communities with a keen interest in telemedicine. While in medical school, the Mountain View community sparked his interest when the current site of Mountain View Urgent Care was advertised as a medical space for lease. During his long road of medical education including completing post-graduate training at Ventura Family Medicine Residency, he kept his interest in serving the Mountain View community. When he learned that the local clinic discontinued operations in Mountain View, he started Mountain View Urgent Care to fill the need for accessible medical care.Mountain View Urgent Care offers high quality and convenient urgent medical services for all of Anchorage, but we intend to become the premier local medical provider in the Mountain View community. Our mission is to provide compassionate and comprehensive care. Our core values are Compassion, Service, and Excellence. We offer exceptional service with extended hours to ensure Mountain View residents have immediate access to excellent care for non-life-threatening medical needs. Mountain View Urgent Care offers services that may be compared to those performed in the "fast track" or low acuity section of a local Emergency Department - BUT with a considerable discount on price! Our on-site x-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory, set us apart from primary care offices which do not offer these services. Up-front pricing means no additional costs after the visit. We have structured our pricing to serve everyone, especially families with high deductible insurance plans.
