We are MUTA: a cross-discipline international collective seeking to create a sense of place. Our crew formed in an ephemeral cultural house in Buenos Aires, Argentina. When the house reached its anticipated demolition date, we decided to take our shared experience to other cities in the Americas, carrying out artistic interventions and urban activism. With a community approach, we learn and work alongside local residents to improve their public and unused spaces.Our main objective is to promote the use of public spaces through collaborative creation projects. We work with local and concrete needs, utilizing art to encourage participation and reflection. One of the most important aspects is leaving residents with collective-planning methodology, which they can replicate in future works throughout their neighborhoods.
