Co- Founded in 2016 by Alice Eshuchi, Lynne Chizzick and Doreen Aura, Mrembo Africa is a social enterprise based in the Kangemi region of Nairobi, Kenya that works to eliminate cycles of poverty, unemployment, and gender based violence by empowering women with skills in fashion, design, marketing, and finance. Our artisans hand make and sell jewelry, home decor, fashion for people of all backgrounds, baskets and bags, face masks, and soaps. We also partner with organizations and institutions in various arenas such as American University's Study Abroad Center in Nairobi and The Good Earth Group. Mrembo is a Swahili term for a "beautiful woman", in tribute to the inner and outer beauty of the African woman. Our mission shines through ensuring self-sustainability and economic independence for women with disregard to ethnicity, religion, level of education and country of origin.
