Cultural Competence is a continuous learning process that builds knowledge, awareness, skills, and capacity to identify, understand, and respect the beliefs, values, customs, languages, abilities and traditions of all Ohioans in order to provide effective programs and services. MACC is the only organization dedicated solely to the implementation of cultural competence in the state of Ohio. This extends to health, behavioral health, public safety, education, and many other industries. We reject the one-size-fits-all approach and advocate for systems to reflect the diverse populations they serve.
