Murchison Drilling Schools (MDS) was founded at the request of major oil, contractor, and service companies to provide training in sound operational drilling practices. From its inception, MDS focused on developing competent supervisors who could effectively supervise drilling operations. Its classes were very operationally oriented and practical. leadership and operational training for drilling supervisors so that they could effectively supervise a drilling operation. MDS became part of the ModuResources Group (MRGroup) in January 2020. More specifically, it became part of the Well Academy division. Murchison Drilling Schools is now called the Well Academy Murchison (WAM). The new name carries the Murchison name and brand, but also identifies it with the Well Academy. Well Academy Murchison uses highly qualified and experienced instructors who, not only pass on the lessons learned in the past, but also impart new technology for today's more complex drilling, completions, and workover operations. WAM is accredited by the IADC and the IWCF and offers both face-to-face and virtual training and certification.
