The Dolhuys Foundation believes in a society in which, when your mind works differently, you are still heard and seen and can participate on the basis of equality. The foundation operates the two branches of the Museum of the Mind: the Museum van de Geest | Dolhuys in Haarlem (since 2005) and the Museum van de Geest | Outsider Art in the Hermitage Amsterdam (since 2016). These museums give a voice to people in society who were previously not represented in the cultural landscape.
