MUSICAUTOR is a society of composers, lyricists and music publishers for collective management of copyright The society was founded in 1992 by 104 Bulgarian composers and authors in Sofia. The society was registered in the Sofia City Court under Company File Case No.18208 of 1992 as a non-profit organization under the Persons and Family Act (PFA) and pursuant to art.40 of the Law on Copyright and Other Related Rights, and subsequently re-registered according to the requirements of the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act (NPLEA) and entered in the Register of the Ministry of Culture under No. 1 of 13 January 1994.
