Using a unique blend of applied science, communication, education, and arts & culture, our mission is to advance the development and implementation of sustainable, transformative solutions for the preservation and protection of freshwater ecosystems locally and globally.We will create, equip, staff, maintain and operate Canada's preeminent, independent limnology institute, whose design and facilities establish an ideal environment for discovery and collaboration, uniting public and private partners and the best scientific minds from around the world.We will develop and maintain a freshwater "living lab", a consortium of partners gathered to explore the convergence of multiple disciplines - science, engineering, design, arts - collaboratively directed at ensuring our ability to live in harmony with freshwater ecosystems.We will undertake to educate the public about freshwater ecosystems and to promote related scientific and functional literacy through informal programs and seminars developed for students, teachers, organizations and members of the general public.We will provide funding to like-minded not-for-profit charitable organizations who are engaged in research, preservation, protection, restoration or educational programs targeting freshwater ecosystems.
