Mutha FM have recently been reactivated and we are streaming on the internet 24/7 with a stellar line-up of shows with BIG name DJs and Artists nationally and internationally, brought to you from the Mother City. Mutha FM started because there are no progressive radio stations in South Africa. What we mean by "progressive" is the music that is played on the station, is not pushed by a large record company in order to increase sales on commercial mainstream units, as we want to play what the people really want to hear... The station first started broadcasting in November 2004 as an underground radio station with a collective of Cape Town's hottest DJ's & Artists, and made a deep impression in the hearts of Capetonians everywhere. Over time technology inevitably caught up, which has enabled Mutha FM to follow through with its broadcast mission. Now there is a massive online presence not only in S.A, but around the world that allows us to showcase on a global basis from the Mutha City. The station is all about Cape Town, the Mother city and the talents that enrich it, giving a platform to artists, new and old and encourages them to progress and showcase their work. We are going one step further by entertaining the audience with a much more interactive experience, visually and socially taking online radio streaming to the next level.
