The Muthengi Foundation is a non-profit organization which was founded by media personalities Holy Dave and Joey Muthengi with an aim of creating an impact among underprivileged kids through Education. The Muthengi Foundation raises support for Education related needs which include:1. The Be the Light Initiative supplies students with solar lamps so they can study and do their homework after-hours. The family is able to avert kerosene health related hazards while saving on their monthly kerosene costs. At a cost of KES 3,040 per lamp, the project has so far raised an upward of KES 680,000 and benefitted over 896 people in 224 homes in Kalima Kathei, Mavoko Constituency.2. The Ficha Uchi Campaign is our biggest initiative. It is an initiative that aims to restore dignity by providing decent school uniforms to disadvantaged school going children around the country. Objectives of the Ficha Uchi Campaign are to restore lost dignity and bolster academic performance by raising self-esteem and confidence. At a cost of KES 1,000 per uniform, the Ficha Uchi Campaign has so far raised an upward of KES 4,800,000 and benefitted 5,000 students in 50 schools in Nairobi, Machakos, Siaya and Kakamega counties. The target is to reach 10,000 students in 100 schools.3. The CompMoja Initiative has set up a computer lab with 14 computers at Kyumbi Secondary School in Mavoko Constituency, Machakos County. This initiative introduced computer studies at the school and is benefitting over 200 students.4. Our High School Fees Program admitted the first student to Form 1 in January 2018. He is currently in Form 3 at Kapsabet Boys High School. The program admitted the second student in January 2019. She is currently in Form 2 at Muthale Girls High School. Both are national schools.5. Our newest initiative Uriel's Mission aims to raise funds for writing materials like exercise books and blackboards; some of the most basic needs in Education.
