My Choices Foundation is committed to giving women and girls the choices to live lives free from abuse, violence and exploitation. We do this through two main initiatives addressing two of the most prevalent and intractable issues in India: domestic violence (through Operation PeaceMaker and sex trafficking (Operation Red Alert).Operation PeaceMaker aims to stop domestic violence by training and employing local women called PeaceMakers to work within their own communities providing counselling, rights education and legal aid to create meaningful change in the lives of victims and their families. Our PeaceMakers and counsellors have helped around 3,000 families resolve cases of domestic abuse, and have invested over 100,000 field hours supporting victims and their families to break the cycle of abuse and transform communities.Operation Red Alert aims to end large scale sex trafficking in India by 2025 through leading the prevention movement. Operation Red Alert has educated more than 2,800 villages in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Jharkhand with the Safe Village Program and innovative comic books. The Safe Village program is backed up by a national helpline, the only one of its kind in India. We have already received over 21,000 calls to date.
