Higher Education - Sheffield, England, United Kingdom
Who we are:The 14-25 Progressions Team are able to develop individualised study programmes for post-16 students with High Needs, based around vocational skills.Where we are:Provision is based primarily at Sheaf Training Centre, but we also work with a network of alternative providers around Sheffield, to ensure that our students are able to access provision in an area of interest to them. What our curriculum looks like:Our curriculum includes a vocational study programme tailored to students' strengths and interests; including photography, film and animation, horticulture, art and design, independent living skills and more. Where students have specific interests we develop an individualised curriculum with our partners around the city. English, maths and enrichment activities are delivered at an appropriate level for each student. What kind of support is available:All teaching takes place in small groups and students receive individual support where it is needed.Which young people come to us:Students with high needs are typically referred to us through their Education, Health and Care plan. These are students who cannot access provision within the ‘usual' settings of college or post-16 school provision and need a more individual offer.Where do our learners progress to:Progression is either onto mainstream courses within college, into supported adult living or into employment through our Supported Internship programme. For further information :Please contact Pippa Proctor at pippa.proctor@sheffield.gov.uk or 0114 2296149 or Richard Smith at richard.smith@sheffield.gov.uk
