MCWA is a program designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, which is one of the first major pieces of water legislation that put safeguards in place to keep our waters drinkable, fishable, and swimmable. Even though the Clean Water Act began meaningful procedures some 40 years ago, due to a growing population and many other factors, scores of scientists around the globe predict a worsening water crisis. MCWA's mission is to inform the public of the potential water crisis, encourage citizens into a meaningful conversation, and inspire them to take appropriate conservation and preservation actions. MCWA's National Program expects to reach more than 34 million people at colleges and universities, aquariums and zoos, and online through the MCWA American Road Tour, MusicFests, and numerous other social and mobile media platforms. Its media footprint is expected to exceed $100M.
