5 million people have an Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability (I/DD). Seven out of ten live at home with Mom and Dad. Sounds great at first glance. However, almost 1 million parent caregivers are over the age of 60. Adults with I/DD live with their parents because they have nowhere else to go after high school. Most can't afford the $40,000+ annual cost of private housing where their social, physical, learning and spiritual needs might be better met. My Home My Life closes the financial gap, making it possible for people with I/DD to live in the Purpose Based Housing Community of their choice.
