Story behind My Sensory Art by Zofia: Zofia, who has multiple diagnoses including Down Syndrome (DS), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), began using sensory wands at a young age in response to her own increasing sensory needs in order to manage her emotions and better regulate herself. Now, as a young entrepreneur and business owner, she handcrafts custom sensory wands for sensory-friendly play, creates a meaningful future for herself and desires to #SHAREHAPPY with others.Zofia, like others with neurodevelopmental differences such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD, shows unusual responses to sensory experiences compared to other typically developing children of the same chronological age. As an under responsive sensory seeker, Zofia's brightly colored and stimulating wands give her a variety of needed sensory input, including tactile, visual & auditory that is both therapeutic and entertaining! ‘Zofia's sensory wands provide multi-sensory input and encourage gross motor development. The varied textures are wonderful and give a child great tactile experience. The build-up handle is also an exceptional feature, not only for grasp, but also for squeezing.' Christina M.
