Orofacial Myology is the neuromuscular re-education or re-patterning of the oral and facial muscles. Myofunctional therapy programs are designed to address improper resting posture of the mouth, "tongue thrusting" during chewing, swallowing, and/or speech. Orofacial myology service includes the evaluation and treatment of abnormal structure and/or functioning of the tongue, lips, and jaw in relation to oral rest postures, swallowing/chewing, and speech.
