Nonprofit Organization Management - Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India
Organization MyPADBANK, an NGO categorized under Sustainable Development Goal number 6 designed by the United Nation, i.e. Clean Water and Sanitation, works on delivering free sanitary napkins to the underprivileged and marginalized sections of the society. The organization was founded in 2018 with an aim to make sanitary napkins available for every girl and woman in the city. The idea was to provide them the right to bleed with dignity under any circumstances. Every month a group of volunteers go on ground for the distribution process to ensure that the resources reach to the beneficiaries. This visit also involves addressing certain questions that the girls/women have related to health/hygiene. The volunteers also work in the areas of creating awareness about having a sustainable menstruation, safe disposal of pads, issues addressing basic growth and development as well. Of lately, we've also introduced the females with using the cloth pad, working more on the idea to make menstruation more sustainable and dignified. The organization is also working on creating more pad vending and incinerating machines at the public places to ensure that females don't compromise on their menstrual health and can access the pads easily in the nearby private-public or public toilets. As of now, we have been able to install one such equipment at the main bus station in the city.Along with the same, we've also been taking training and awareness sessions in different schools and institutions of the city to educate the youth including both, boys as well as girls to break the taboo by discussing this topic and making it as common as we breathe. We've been able to address more than 20 schools in the city, covering an audience of about 500+ young people. Through our efforts we promote safe and healthy periods for everyone in the city and ensure that #no_one_leaves_behind.
