Alcoholic Beverages - N/A, N/A, us
Myris is the world's first distilled nutmeg liqueur. Myris was conceived and formulated by Jim Ryan, who, for decades has been mesmerized by botanicals and fruit in particular. Jim has dedicated the past 20 years of his adult life to the drinks industry, from multiple angles. Whether it was developing drinks for fine dining establishments in New York or traveling the globe as an Ambassador to Hendrick's Gin, Jim has always been curious about exotic fruits and their application in cocktails. For Myris, he's personally met and partnered with nutmeg farmers in Malaysia, Grenada, and Zanzibar so he can purchase their nutmeg fruit. The Nutmeg tree (Myristica fragrans) is a tropical evergreen that provides us with the familiar spices of nutmeg seed and mace. This celebrated tree also gives us bright and citrusy nutmeg fruit. That's right, nutmeg is actually a fruit. While farmers have harvested the mace and seed for centuries, the fruit has been discarded on the jungle floor. By upcycling nutmeg fruit, our team can do a bit of our part to help cut carbon emissions and create a revenue stream for the farmers and processors that didn't exist prior to Myris. Our founding team is rounded out in our Advisory Board and includes spirits industry legends, all three have either successfully entered a strategic partnership or sold majority shares of their startups to large spirits suppliers. Or AB is comprised of Karen Hoskin, Simon Ford, and Steve Myers.Myris behaves exceptionally well in cocktails!
