Government Administration - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, United States
The Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation was founded by Myrtle Beach City Council in 1999 to implement the Pavilion Area Master Plan. The Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation (DRC) is a 501n(c) (3) not-for-profit corporation that initiates and facilitates the revitalization of Downtown Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is in the midst of dramatic changes, and the Myrtle Beach DRC is the organization charged with that task! The DRC has led an enthusiastically aggressive implementation schedule of the Pavilion Area Master Plan (PAMP). Key components are strategic public-private partnerships to insure a successfully completed city master plan. The redevelopment focus is identified by dividing the Downtown into five districts; the Entry District, North Entertainment District, Central Amusement District, and the South Mixed Use District. Myrtle Beach's famed $6.5 million Oceanfront Boardwalk was a large aspect of the PAMP that paved the way for the DRC's revitalization vision. The eleven member Board of Directors and Executive Director, David Sebok are currently in the process of constructing the next step in the right direction for Downtown Myrtle Beach. As the City of Myrtle Beach continues to grow so does our vision! This will be accomplished with the establishment of strategic aesthetic, functional, and business development goals; the addition and enhancement of public infrastructure; the creation of economic and other incentive programs; and through partnerships with the private investment and development sectors."
