Māori Women's Development Inc (MWDI) is an organisation concerned with the economic development of Wāhine Māori and their whānau in Aotearoa/New Zealand. In 1987 Maori Women's Welfare League established the Māori Women's Development Fund to assist wāhine Māori into business. In 1997 The Trustees of MWDI are the past and present Presidents of the Maori Women's Welfare League. The membership of MWDI comprises the Trustees and the National Council of Maori Women's Welfare League.Māori Women's Development Inc encourages the economic development of Wāhine Māori and their whānau to ensure that Māori share in and contribute equitably to our nation's cultural, economic, social and political achievements.
