Dr. Nachman Brautbar is a board-certified internist and nephrologist, with a specialization in toxicology. His list of past and present academic appointments include: Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. He specializes in the toxicological and internal medicine aspects of injury in the workplace and environment, product liability, personal injury, and standard of care. Dr. Brautbar has published over 200 scientific papers and book chapters. He has been the lead expert witness and testified in product liability and toxic tort exposure cases, with expertise in benzene toxicity, manganese toxicity (welders), alcohol intoxication and pharmacokinetics (DUI, DWI, retrograde extrapolation), marijuana/cannabis/THC and drugs of abuse intoxication (cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, etc.), herbal/dietary/nutritional/food supplement toxicology, mold exposure, hip implant toxicity, pesticides/herbicides/insecticides exposure, groundwater and drinking water contamination, California Proposition 65 (Prop 65), and exposures involving MTBE, gasoline, diesel exhaust, lead, chromium, cadmium, nickel, beryllium, mercury, arsenic, heavy metals, polychlorinated biphenyls, diacetyl, trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene/tetrachloroethylene, formaldehyde, asbestos, silica, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA, C8, Teflon), perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), 4-methylcyclohexanemethanol (MCHM), talcum powder (talc), EMF and radiation.
