Nachtbrötchen is bringing art to the people by organizing unconventional art events in unexpected venues. We have many sources of inspiration from The Mudd Club in the early 80s in New York, which was like a creative second home for artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, as well as the Creamcheese Club in Düsseldorf from the early 70s, which was designed by ZERO-artists. Music and art played an important role in both clubs. Nachtbrötchen aims to build on these sources of inspiration with its broad, accessible and imaginative attitude. We bring together electronic music, combine it with classical music, opera and experimental music along with cultural performances of an infinite variety. We have no boundaries. We have an expansive and broad attitude to art very much inspired by the view of the famous Düsseldorf artist Joseph Beuys (1921-1986):" Everyone is an Artist". Our main focus is on the fine arts, which we present in a wide range of styles, from cash & carry to collector level works. We also understand music, dance, theater, poetry, performances and more as art, and they play an important and prominent role at all our events. Our target group ranges from people who have little or no experience with art and may feel uneasy by the way it is sometimes presented to those for whom art is already a passion. We aim to make our events equally accessible to the art collector who traveled by private jet to our event at Cologne Airport, as well as the motorcycle policeman without any art experience who bought his first piece of art at Nachtbrötchen in Düsseldorf. We want to invite and encourage people to start thinking about buying and collecting art. All events offer a great opportunity to view and buy art in an inspirational atmosphere. Nachtbrötchen aims to create a new movement dedicated to the way people engage with art, making it accessible and constantly reinventing the way art is brought to the public.
