Nairobi Institute of Swahili & East African Culture (NISEAC) was the first and still is the only institute focusing purely on Swahili language and culture tuition in Kenya. NISEAC offers Swahili language courses, East African anthropology courses, Swahili translation & interpretation and hosts cultural events. At NISEAC we help our enthusiastic and curious students push themselves to overcome cultural and linguistic barriers within East Africa. We take great pride in guiding our students on their path towards knowledge expansion and exploration of the customs and languages of a vast array of East African ethnic groups and societies. Nairobi Institute of Swahili & East African Culture (NISEAC) is translating books for publishing houses, documents for various governments and film manuscripts for leading producers in Kenya and abroad. Most of the workload being translation from English to Swahili. We are currently engaged in the production of a downloadable Swahili audio language course, in partnership with Nation Media Group (NMG), the leading conglomerate of daily and weekly newspapers, television stations and radio stations in East and Central Africa (www.nationmedia.com) NISEAC has done live voice interpretation for victims of the 2007 post election violence in conjunction with the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission; TJRC (www.tjrckenya.org).
