Our Vision: To maximize Donor dollars available to support the purchase of facilities and equipment. Our Mission: The provision of public healthcare is not limited by inadequate facilities or equipment. Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation was established in 1977 as a means through which grateful patients and loved ones could "give back" to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). The Foundation began actively fundraising in 1991 in response to the rising cost of delivering quality healthcare on Central Vancouver Island. Since then, we have raised over $42 million for NRGH and affiliated healthcare facilities. Also see history and facts. The Foundation raises funds for the following facilities and programs: Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Nanaimo Oceanside Health Centre, Parksville Dufferin Place Extended Care Facility, Nanaimo Eagle Park Health Care Facility, Qualicum Beach Nanaimo Lifeline Silent Guardian Fund, Nanaimo/Parksville/Qualicum Beach Trillium Lodge, Parksville The Foundation also owns and operates three revenue-generating businesses: Nanaimo Lifeline and two Code Brew cafés. Code Brew @ NRGH is in the lobby of the Hospital and Code Brew @ Millstone is at the corner of Dufferin and Boundary Crescents in the Millstone Medical Centre.
