Dr. Elda Garcia launched the NATP in 2019 after serving as a District Testing Coordinator for nearly two decades. She served as a district and state leader for most of that time. She served as on the Board as Regional Director, then President of the largest assessment organization in Texas. Dr. Garcia created NATP to share her experiences in building partnerships and networks that facilitate strong professional connections and development for testing coordinators state and nationwide.The NATP mission is to create a network of support and resources that will streamline assessment efforts across the United States. Our vision is for every state to establish and have access to its own statewide assessment network. With empowerment, support, and partnership as core values, national affiliates will work collectively to inform state and federal decision-making that will result in fair and sensible assessment policies for all states and improve educational systems across the nation.
