Colegiul Național "Andrei Șaguna" is a state secondary school with a long trandition of excellence. Founded in 1850 by the Metropolitan Bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Church, it has produced 49 academicians in the most diverse fields. The school became a "National College" in 1996 and in 2007 it was included in the bilingual francophone programme for the Baccalaureate. Since 2008 it has been a member of the Alliance of the Centenary Colleges and it was awarded the Diploma for Institutional Excellence in 2010 from the Ministry of Education.Our school aims to meet the need of every student to be competent and competitive in an environment in which the respect for oneself and for the other prevails. It seeks to facilitate the autonomous, full and harmonious development of every student, to maximise the students' potential and to develop their autonomy and creative skills. Our values are: excellence, tradition, honour and an active involvement in the life of the community.
