Education Management - Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan
National Education Consortium (NEC) is a registered "Not for Profit" organization with a mandate to raise awareness of opportunities of higher education in Pakistan and channelize scholarships and financial aid to deserving candidates through a transparent and cost effective mechanism. Target areas of NEC are tier 2 cities of Pakistan from where talent needs to be energized to discover true potential. NEC operates by delivering awareness raising sessions in colleges targeting students who are planning for higher education. Comprehensive information is disseminated to students about opportunities of higher education in leading universities of Pakistan. The effort is not limited to just awareness raising; interested and promising candidates are guided and counselled throughout the process until their admission in a university. This process consists of coaching sessions and one-to-one counselling for addressing deficiencies of candidates in terms of their preparation for admission in reputable universities. During the awareness raising sessions, a database of students is built from grass root level. Students interested in applying for financial aid also submit a form containing their details that are scrutinized for their eligibility depending upon the merit of donors. In year 2015, 58 students who got guidance from NEC, got placed in institutions of higher education including LUMS, ITU, NAMAL and GIFT University. Most of these students are enjoying generous scholarships from universities and external donors.
