Public Policy - New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
The National Guestworker Alliance (NGA) was formed as a national membership organization of guestworkers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and has grown to include a broad range of workers on the front lines of the gig economy: migrant workers, immigrants, and Black workers in communities that have experienced structural unemployment. We bring our members' experience and expertise to the front of public policy debates about the future of work. NGA has been working to form a coalition to reform the social safety net in order to more accurately reflect the way that work occurs in the 21st century.
