In Polish we are Ośrodek Przetwarzania Informacji – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy. Meet us! We operate in the research and development sector. We build computer systems and create software for the science and higher education sector to share up-to-date and comprehensive information and data. Our computer systems are designed comprehensively – from methodology and technological aspects, to the gathering and verification of information. Our most important systems include: the Integrated System of Information on Science and Higher Education (POL-on), the Uniform Anti-plagiarism system (JSA), the electronic proposal submission service I (ZSUN I), the electronic proposal submission service II (ZSUN II) and the Polish Graduate Tracking System (ELA). We employ over 200 IT experts. Programming languages used by our software developers include JavaScript, Java, Python, SQL, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, jQuery. Our computer systems organise and integrate data concerning higher education and science in Poland, and the results of our research projects and analyses are used by the Ministry of Science as a tool to support the decision-making process. Other important entities to which our services are offered include two central research funding agencies: the National Science Centre (NCN) and the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR). Everything we do is based on interdisciplinarity. Our research is conducted in 7 laboratories, bringing together professionals from many fields; apart from information technology experts, our team is composed of economists, sociologists, lawyers, statisticians and psychologists. This fusion of different scientific approaches is conducive to in-depth analysis of research issues and drives innovation. Our key areas of research include: artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms, natural language processing algorithms, sentiment analysis, neural networks, discovering knowledge from text data, human-computer interaction (HCI).
