The National Investment Corporation of Cameroon (SNI), set up in 1964 as a State-owned corporation with the State as sole shareholder, has as objective to mobilize and channel national savings and other national and international financial resources. It has a registered capital of 24 billion FCFA. Because of its manifold missions, the SNI is a major player in the Cameroonian economic environment. It is : - A State owned company managed as a business corporation, which provides support to Government's economic, industrial and social strategies. In addition, it is subject to the obligations of ordinary law.- A venture capital company that acquires equity in new or existing companies with good commercial and financial prospects.- A promoter which initiates, carries out studies and sets up projects in joint venture with previously identified technical, financial or commercial partners; - A funding institution that provides support to viable and financially profitable economic projects through loans and/or advances to shareholders' current accounts.- A facilitator that receives and accompanies investors as well as financial and technical partners who so desire in the implementation of their projects
