The Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur (MNLU, Nagpur) was established by Maharashtra Government by way of enactment known as the Maharashtra National Law University Act (Maharashtra Act No. VI of 2014) and holds the distinction of being the Nineteenth National Law University in the country. The university is currently operating from a temporary campus at Judicial Officers Training Institute. However, the University shall have its permanent campus on the 65-acres land at Kaladongri on Wardha Road.The University is situated in the city of Nagpur, a city that has acted as a lynchpin in the legal circle of the country by producing some of the most prolific lawyers and judges. The Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench is situated here which lends further impetus to the city from a legal standpoint, making it conducive for legal education.The University, though in its nascent stages, is growing by leaps and bounds and its endeavour is to disseminate knowledge of law and research and to give to the society, competent lawyers and judges, able administrators, qualified academicians and intellectuals, upright judicial officers, punctilious researchers and distinguished leaders.It hopes to achieve this end by developing individual thinking, in keeping with which our university has fostered a vibrant culture of debate and discussion and adopted a holistic approach towards learning with a view to meaningfully integrate, support and enhance professional knowledge of law and so as to groom the students to be socially responsible citizens before anything else.Furthermore, our University also has an eclectic and an accomplished team of faculty members coming from diverse backgrounds and drawn from all across India, who pave way in furthering this vision of our university.
