National School of Physics & Math was founded in 1972 with an express mission of identifying young talent and nurturing them in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The school was twinned with specialized schools in Moscow, Novosibirsk, St Petersburg, and Kiev. Mathematics-heavy curriculum developed by top Soviet scholars and Nobel Prize winners enabled the school to achieve tremendous results over the last half a century. The school counts brilliant scientists, successful entrepreneurs, tycoons, politicians, and artists among its alumni. The school currently maintains two campuses in Almaty and Astana with an annual graduation cohort of 300 students. Our basic goal is to educate our students in such a way that they can gain admission to any top university in their chosen field. That's why you can find FIZMAT students studying in as diverse places as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Ivy League, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Tsinghua, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Nazarbayev University, Korea Adanced University of Science and Technology, Oxford, and Cambridge, among many others. We are a school that graduates students who can not only think creatively and critically, but also do so with tireless enthusiasm and passion. National School of Physics & Math is a proud member of National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (North America), Coalition of Science and Math Olympiad Schools - COSMOS (Eurasia), and Science on Stage (Europe).
