NSWC Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity is a United States Navy field command located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in the world's largest Navy fleet concentration area. As part of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) organization and Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, NSWC Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity is a systems engineering, acquisition, and in-service support organization that engineers and fields warfare systems superiority. NSWC Dam Neck Activity houses one of Dahlgren Division's six technical departments, known as the Readiness and Training Department, or R Department.R Department's mission is to deliver operationally ready systems and platforms for Naval Warfighters. Through innovation and rigorous systems engineering, we provide timely, safe, and cost-effective solutions to support the Warfighter in:- Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Cyber Warfare, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance- Systems Engineering- Integrated Training Systems- Combat System Readiness, Support and Sustainment- Systems Safety Engineering- Cybersecurity Readiness Engineering, Test and EvaluationEstablished in 1963 as Fleet Computer Programming Center Atlantic, NSWC Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity was also named Fleet Combat Direction Systems Support Activity.
