Nonprofit Organization Management - Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
We create safe spaces for families who are experiencing pregnancy, infant, child and/or parent loss. We use evidence-based creative approaches including Art, Music, Recreation and Holistic Approaches. We connect, educate and support our communities in a variety of ways through groups, events and retreats. We partner with organizations to provide our services and collaborate with researchers to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs. We are a new organization and are working toward charity status. To date we held partnerships with UNB and Charlotte St. Arts Centre, securing $20,000 to commence an Expressive Arts Program for Youth. We received funding from Brenan's Funeral Homes & Crematorium and John T. McMillian Jr. Foundation to begin our Family Grief Program. As a group of 20 therapists and professionals we provide volunteer services to create and implement programs. Our mission is to help people to feel less isolated in their grief by connecting with us through a variety of means including: our online Facebook page, virtual programs and in-person programs (within public health guidelines). We live by our values of compassion, inclusivity, creativity and excellence. Our board includes business leaders, health professionals, therapists and families with lived experience of loss. We rely on the generosity of our partners and supporters to build our needed program. Our aim is to become leaders and innovators in grief support in our province.
