Since opening in 1997, Neal C. Goldberg, Ph.D. has been serving children, adolescents, and adults who are suffering from trauma, loss, bereavement, anxiety, shame, infertility, and mood disorders.Dr. Goldberg provides comprehensive assessment and interventions for people trying to cope with difficult life circumstances, intra-psychic pain, and relationship struggles, in addition to people overwhelmed by trauma, grief, or abuse. He uses an eclectic toolbelt to create solutions that allow people to maximize their potential. With compassion and warmth, he creates a therapeutic space where people can heal wounds, find meaning, and learn coping skills. The goal is to learn to navigate through stress and pain, and, ultimately, grow beyond them. His office is located in Lawrence, New York, however he is able to hold virtual sessions as well. Dr. Goldberg holds a Doctorate in Psychology from Fordham University, with post-doctorate training in child/adolescent and adult psychotherapy from the Advanced Institute for Analytic Psychotherapy. He also trained with Cirque du Soleil's Cirque du Monde program as a social action trainer for youth, and a professional therapeutic clown. He's been an adjunct professor at Fordham, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and St. Johns University, and is the co-author of Saying Goodbye: A Handbook for Teens Dealing with Loss and Mourning.
