The Neches-Gulf Group of companies (NGM) was founded by Carl Sanders in August 1987 to provide offshore support services for the tanker to tanker transfer of crude oil, an operation known as lightering. NGM started with two 180' OSV's which were converted for lightering support and eventually grew to a Fleet of Ten vessels that performed lightering operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico the U.S. East Coast and the Caribbean. Today we own and operate Three Utility boats that range from 115' to 125 feet in length. In April 1989 NGM purchased a dock facility in Sabine Pass, Texas which became the first dedicated lightering facility in the United States. In early 1999 NGM leased dock space to Cliff Drilling which is now (The Offshore Drilling Company). Since that time, TODCO has used the facility to store as many as three Jack up Drilling Rigs plus as a base to support other Rigs that are stacked in the Sabine River.
