Music - Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
Nederlands Camerata (NedCam) is called the orchestra of the soloists and an orchestra for the soloists. All these in benefit of the public of course! All players are soloists at their instruments, contributing equally to the ensemble-playing. All players will take turns to perform as soloists too, at instrumental concertos on their instrument, with the orchestra in accompanying role. The players will also form smaller chamber ensembles of existing combinations. The orchestra's flexibility will be experienced through the variation of the ensemble's growth, according to performances' needs, even reaching symphonic size.DIFFERENCESince 1918, the time Arnold Schoenberg founded the Society for Private Musical Performances, rarely have we seen chamber ensembles of more than 9 players perform either older or contemporary symphonic music. By retaining the original character of every work but treating every player as a soloist, masterpieces of the past and present can be performed while enjoying new forms of orchestration and experiencing orchestral as well as chamber colour of sound! Concerts can be easily performed in smaller halls or even venues outside concert halls, where large orchestras cannot stand, with minor financial needs and expenses. All these, adding intimacy in the performing and listening experience as well!GOALOur flexibility in consistence gives the opportunity and fluency to perform large amount of repertoire. The goal is to satisfy a large amount of the public by playing baroque, great classics, modern, music for children, religious, cinema music, opera, other styles or in combination with other disciplines of Art. The catalogue is endless.Nederlands Camerata (NedCam) is looking forward to promote the European musical culture in the Union, enlarge the interest of public for symphonic and chamber music, educate young and old, even contribute to scientific projects.
