Legal Services - New Delhi, Delhi, India
Law is primarily a means to regulate society, the end point of which is justice. Paradoxically, it is complex, expensive and difficult to access for a large part of the society, especially those who need access to justice the most. Neev-Foundation for Legal Aid will aim to make a contribution towards the resolution of this gap. We believe that lawyering exists both within and outside courts and thus legal education and litigation support will be our primary tools. We will also provide ancillary services such as guidance on matters like filing police complaints, drafting affidavits, etc. We aim our audience for legal education to be law students, young professionals and the general public interested in the law through training modules and workshops. Our legal aid team will cater to anyone (but especially the less privileged sections of society) in matters concerning human rights, human rights violations, women's rights and rights of children. We aim to build a team of young lawyers which excels at providing these services by aiming to make legal aid more affordable both to clients as well as incentivising the work of young legal professionals.
