Neighbourhood Jobs is a new social enterprise on a mission to smash intergenerational dependence on social housing, by employing local young people. Neighbourhood Jobs is a property care business; lawn mowing with heart. We employ young people who have grown up in care, in social housing or have experienced homelessness. Our program is trauma informed and our team work closely with young employees to develop occupational and life skills over a three-month intensive support program. Our ultimate goal is to provide a framework for our young employees to sustain themselves into adulthood. This is achieved by working closely with local employers to provide diverse work experience and future employment opportunities. We also coach our young employees once they take on their next paid job. Neighbourhood Job is wholly owned by Wentworth Community Housing and is proudly funded by the NSW Department of Industry.
