The Neighbourhood Justice Centre improves the quality of community life by improving public safety. We use a range of restorative and therapeutic justice practices, community engagement , and non-adversarial justice solutions.Our Magistrates' Court hears criminal and civil matters, and we help people break the cycles of offending by providing the most extensive range of treatment services of any Australian court, and unique problem solving solutions.Supporting our court work, we provide a range of non-adversarial services including community-based public safety solutions and mediation.What we do, we teach. We provide expert advise to government, justice, and community organisations both here and abroad who are looking for best-practice public safety solutions.Part of Magistrates' Court Victoria, the NJC is Australia's only community justice centre.Throughout 2017 we celebrate ten years as part of the City of Yarra and the international community justice movement.
