Networking and Emerging Optimization - University of Málaga (SPAIN)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, WE HAVE YOUR SOLUTION !!!Our research group creates new techniques that are able of solving complex problems in numerous domains. We can solve huge and very complex problems in Smart Cities, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, Logistics, Telecommunications, Vehicular Networks (VANETs) and in general discrete and continuos optimization tasks (also mixed ones). We deal with very large dimensions, uncertain/dynamic data, strong non-linear restrictions and arbitrary problem formulations, even with systems encapsulated into big simulators needing optimization. We use exact algorithms, metaheuristics, and Nature inspired techniques like evolutionary algorithms, ant colony systems, particle swarm optimization, simulated annealing, variable neighborhood search, local search, and a long list of other modern procedures to face actual real world problems. We deal with the theory of these techniques to ground our advances. We also make them efficient by developing parallel algorithms on clusters grid, cloud and GPUs. We model problems as Multiobjective cost functions and find optimal Pareto fronts to ease multicriteria decision making. We are specialists in making hybrid combinations of algorithms to yield accurate solvers for optimization, search, and learning.
