NEPA Community Health Care has been serving the people of rural Susquehanna county for 35 years with the mission to provide exceptional care to all those who seek it. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center, NEPA CHC sets and is held to a lofty standard of regulatory compliance, financial integrity and clinical quality. It is a principal function of the FQHC program to diminish or eliminate barriers to care. Community health centers provide enabling services, which strive to engage and retain patients in care. Such services include translation, facilitating access to transportation services, heat and housing assistance, and guidance to obtain health care coverage. Patients with limited financial resources are offered a Sliding Fee Scale which takes household and federal poverty level data into consideration when setting discounted payment rates for patients. As we look to the opening of our newest health center in Lackawanna county, the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center will serve as a platform to expand the availability of primary, psychiatric and behavioral health care, OB/GYN, primary care radiology and cardiovascular services. NEPA CHC's strategic expansion is in response to the needs of the community, informed by federal, state and county data, and underscored by community requests and patient appeals for services.
