Nepal Invests Platform Details
Nepal Invests is a platform that is designed to unlock constraints to investment by development finance institutions (DFIs) and development partners in Nepal over the medium and long-term. Nepal Invests will focus on five initiatives designed to support post-COVID 19 economic recovery in the medium term through unlocking more DFI investment opportunities (including through intermediaries) and inform longer term initiatives. The platform is intended to fit with the Government of Nepal's strategy for supporting economic recovery and aligned with the programmes of other development partners. The intended outcomes of the five initiatives are as follows:1. Make regulations governing FDI in Nepal more navigable for DFls;2. Explore alternative SME financing options;3. Increase the capability of investment professionals in Nepal;4. Increase the understanding and demand for growth capital amongst Nepal's business leaders and officials;5. Drive E&S that is standardised by DFls and better practised by companies in Nepal.
