Education/Training - N/A, N/A, N/A
Nest Early Learning is a full-day 3-5 year old group childcare program with a mission to help all children in our care develop into the best versions of themselves. We use the Attachment Based Developmental Approach as our guiding philosophy for child care, as well as Emergent Curriculum as our method for early learning. As early childhood educators, we have the responsibility of nurturing children through the most influential and developmentally significant time of their lives. ABDA teaches that the quality of children's attachments to caregivers and the conditions in which they are raised are the key influences in their development. The goal of ABDA is to help attachment figures understand the inner workings of the children in their care so they can help these children become the best versions of themselves. Through the guidance of strong attachment figures operating in a comfortable environment that fosters emergent play, we believe that children will develop into happy and resilient individuals, ultimately preparing them for school and the real world. Our programming is largely influenced by the teaching philosophy of Emergent Curriculum. This method revolves around true play, in which the teachers, or co-learners, provide open-ended materials and opportunities for children to move about and explore their space, within the safe boundaries of their environment, freely and for long periods of time. This environment is seen as a third teacher in the way it is strategically set up. However, the majority of the experiences are spontaneously created by the children and cannot be taught. Because children's learning is derived from their play, they become intrinsically motivated to find the answers to their questions, while forming a habit of enjoying the process of learning.
