Netwookie addresses the challenges faced by the informal sector to access jobs. These are skilled workers with no formal background, who due to lack of transparency and trust face high entry barriers to engage in job opportunities. Globally over 2.4 billion people are affected daily. In Kenya alone the informal economy is 77% of the total labour force, equivalent to 11.8 million people, and makes out 40% of the countries GDP. The market we seek to address is over 2 billion EUR in revenue for Kenya alone.Netwookie offers an online platform which caters to the unique business needs found in these settings. It connects service providers with customers to facilitate new work opportunities through a cloud based matching algorithm, charging a fee per connection. We have an international team of talented workers based in Kenya and Europe to develop state-of-the-art platform solutions. Our current work at Netwookie focuses on providing boda drivers at low fares through a mobile application to transport packages and clients throughout Kenya.
