The New Neighborhood group NEUE NACHBARSCHAFT // MOABIT in Berlin Moabit is a big nonprofit community of over 400 members with and without a refugee background. It is a place where people get together , where social contacts are formed, where the lives of old and new Berliners are enriched by cultural exchange and joint activities. All activities and events are organized by volunteers and open for everyone, based on a give-and-take principle. Three days a week we offer a German language cafe, there are Swing dancing classes every Monday, legal and educational counseling every Tuesday, a homemade dinner every Wednesday, a chess group and a jam session every Thursday. Every Saturday our rooms are filled with creative children and adults who join our art classes. We also offer tutoring in German, mathematics and music for children. Apart from that, there are regular Arabic and Spanish courses, concerts, exhibitions, lectures and parties. We don't offer jobs but are happy about everyone who joins us. It's a great place to learn more about cultures, languages and self-organized communities. And of course you can also improve your social skills here.
