NeuroHawks aims to stimulate a multidisciplinary neuroscience community among students attending Wilfrid Laurier University. We aim to convene one of the following during the fall-winter terms in 2020: (a) a two-day, weekend conference comprised of a host of brain researchers from the Waterloo region(b) monthly talks delivered by speakers operating in the realm of brain researchSpeakers will discuss their research with attendees, followed by interactive Q&A sessions + workshops to foster learning and engagement. By convening such events we aim to: - Provide a platform and environment for students to collaboratively investigate the brain alongside knowledgable speakers. - Give students the opportunity to glean insight into recent discoveries that are setting the stage for future breakthroughs in the treatment of neurological disease and mental illness. - Encompass students from an array of academic backgrounds, all with a common interest in learning about the brain.
