Nevi , is an Italian company, specialises in the machining of parts in titanium and its alloys for the foods, chemical, auto and cycling industries, manufacturing products in titanium and stainless steel to order. In addition, the company uses the water-jet-cutting-system to cut sheets in thicknesses of up to 100mm, as well as any other sort of material ( titanium, steel, iron, and glass ). All the welding of Nevi's products is effected inside a bell in which a vacuum is firstly created, before inserting inert gases ( argon ). This procedure is particularly suitable and is used by the auto and aeronautical sectors, in other words, where there is a need for – apart from expensive and sophisticated equipment – special skill in executing welding. It also makes it possible to achieve results which are not objectively possible using traditional titanium welding procedures. Welding in a completely inert atmosphere makes it possible to execute weld with a seam section of 20mm. This is possible thanks to the argon gas atmosphere which triggers no reactions which might affect the characteristics of titanium. Nevi has also developed a series of equipment for welding large manufactured structures. One of the compartments in which the Lombardy-based company is also active is that of bicycle frames produced in Grade 9 (3Al- 2.5V ) and Grade 5 ( 6Al- 4V ) titanium, both alloys with a high ultimate tensile strength.
