The HOKA New Jersey New York Track Club is the East Coast's most successful elite track & road racing team. Under the direction of famed track coach, Frank ‘Gag' Gagliano, HOKA NJNYTC is training and competing with the top athletes in the world. The mission of the club is to develop each athlete to compete at the highest levels of the sport and to promote youth physical-education within our community. The club was formed in 2009 when Olympian Erin Donohue approached Coach Gagliano about creating a training group on the East Coast. Donohue, a New Jersey native, was in the process of relocating back to the East Coast following the Olympics and was struggling to find running partners and the necessary support, including high level coaching. Coach Gagliano had also recently relocated back to the East Coast following 10 years of coaching on the West Coast (The Farm Team and Oregon Track Club Elite). In the club's first Olympic cycle, Coach Gagliano sent 14 athletes to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, producing one Olympian (Julie Culley) and a total of 4 top-ten performances. In 2016, the club was represented by 16 athletes at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, highlighted by Donn Cabral's qualification in the 3000m Steeplechase.
