Nonprofit Organization Management - New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
We build cross-sector solutions for New Orleans youth with significant needs by bringing knowledge and new resources to the table, aligning stakeholders into action, and catalyzing program and system-level innovation.New Pathways New Orleans (NPNO)'s mission is to build cross-sector solutions for New Orleans youth with significant needs in three priority areas: special education, mental and behavioral health, and juvenile justice. NPNO envisions a city with pathways for all youth to succeed, and operationalizes our vision within each priority area by serving as a neutral consultant, partner, and leader across sectors. NPNO achieves this vision by facilitating alignment between stakeholders, building shared understanding of existing programs and system-wide needs, and transforming those sectors by scaling existing solutions and incubating new programs.Currently, too many New Orleans children confront systemic barriers preventing their needs from being met. The manifestations of poverty are uncommonly prevalent – too many children experience trauma and other environmental stressors that result in mental illness, truancy, behavioral challenges, violence, incarceration, and health deficits at rates far higher than average. Our youth-serving institutions often lack sufficient resources, were not rebuilt post-Katrina, are fragmented, or never existed in the first place. As a result, New Orleans has large numbers of youth with unmet needs across the sectors that exist to serve them.
